Administrator access via four-character Telnet password
Published Feb 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in FiberHome HG6245D firmware RP2613 and earlier allow remote attackers to access the Telnet CLI as administrator. The init_3bb_password function in libci_adaptation_layer.so generates the admin password from only four hexadecimal characters. The Telnet CLI listens by default over IPv6; IPv4 access requires prior enablement through the web interface or its backdoor API.
