Administrative access via predictable MAC-derived credentials
Published Feb 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Hard-coded credentials in FiberHome HG6245D firmware RP2613 and earlier allow remote attackers to access the web administration interface. The web daemon recognizes an admin password computed from the final six hexadecimal digits of the br0 interface MAC address. Network access to the HTTPS management service and knowledge or prediction of that MAC suffix permit authentication and exposure of CLI telnet access.
