Elevation of privilege via unrestricted federated browsing
Published Apr 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Security feature bypass in Azure AD Web Sign-in on affected Windows releases allows physically proximate attackers to gain elevated access. Azure AD Web Sign-in permits unrestricted browsing from third-party endpoints used for federated authentication instead of limiting navigation to approved domains. Exploitation requires physical access and a federated Web Sign-in configuration, and successful abuse grants unauthorized elevated access.
