Arbitrary code execution via crafted DWG parsing
Published Jun 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Autodesk AutoCAD-based desktop products allows context-dependent attackers to execute code via a crafted DWG file. While parsing the malformed file, the DWG component writes beyond its allocated buffer and fails to handle the resulting exception. Exploitation requires a user to open the file; successful memory corruption allows arbitrary code execution.
