Code execution via unchecked ZIP entry paths
Published Apr 19, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Directory traversal in Autodesk FBX Review 1.4.1.0 and 1.5.0 allows remote attackers to execute code through a malicious FBX file. The ZIP parser uses attacker-supplied entry filenames in file operations without first validating that their paths remain inside the intended directory. Exploitation requires the targeted user to visit malicious content or open the file, and resulting code runs with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
