Privilege escalation via improper management-interface authorization
Published Mar 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Incorrect authorization in Aruba Networks AirWave Management Platform before 8.2.12.0 allows remote authenticated users to alter managed data. The web-based management interface accepts lower-privileged requests to change management-user or device details, but HPE has not disclosed the affected endpoint or failed authorization check. A lower-privileged AirWave account and network access to the interface are required; successful exploitation grants elevated privileges or permits unauthorized network-management changes.
