Script execution via unencoded discount code
Published Feb 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in nopCommerce 4.30 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary script in a victim's browser through a discount code. CheckDiscountCouponAttribute passes the untrusted discountcode value through string.Format into a warning notification without HTML encoding. Exploitation requires a victim to follow or submit the crafted request, after which the script runs in the nopCommerce origin and can read or alter browser-accessible data.
