Account-token disclosure via uncleared cache files
Published Apr 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cleartext storage in TimelyBills 1.7.0 and earlier on iOS and 1.21.115 and earlier on Android allows local users to obtain JWT tokens. The application's cache-clearing logic leaves signed, encoded account tokens in locally readable files instead of removing them. Exploitation requires local file access and exposes token-contained account data because JWT signing provides integrity, not encryption.
