Database disclosure via unvalidated table sort direction
Published Feb 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in wpDataTables before 3.4.1 allows remote attackers to read the WordPress database through a published server-side table. The get_wdtable AJAX action incorporates the attacker-controlled order[0][dir] value into a server-side table query without restricting it to a safe sort direction. Exploitation requires a table created with default settings and published on a page; it can dump database contents, including credential hashes.
