Root code execution via untrusted PATH search

Untrusted search path handling in Zscaler Client Connector before 3.7 allows local users to execute code with root privileges. A privileged process resolves an executable through a locally controlled PATH variable instead of restricting the search to trusted directories. A low-privileged account must control the search path and place a matching executable, after which the planted code runs as root.
