CVE-2021-26727Network attack vector

Unauthenticated root code execution via subnet input

Published Oct 24, 2022 · Updated May 7, 2025

Command injection and stack-based buffer overflows in Lanner IAC-AST2500A firmware 1.10.0 allow remote attackers to execute code as root. SubNet_handler_func in spx_restservice fails to neutralize network-configuration input before command execution and fails to bound copies into stack buffers. The web management interface requires no authentication, so successful exploitation grants root control of the BMC; compromise of the managed host is also reported as possible.
