CVE-2021-26726

Unauthenticated SYSTEM command execution via predictable encryption key

Published Feb 16, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

OS command injection in Valmet DNA before Collection 2021 allows remote attackers to execute commands with SYSTEM privileges. The TCP port 1517 service uses a predictable encryption key to accept crafted packets and dispatch attacker-supplied commands as trusted requests. An unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network can reach the default listener and obtain full command execution under the Windows SYSTEM account.
