Stack-based buffer overflow in Bandisoft ARK Library 7.17 and earlier allows attackers to execute code after a user opens a crafted file. The file-size verification code interprets an offset read from the target file with the wrong data type, allowing the value to drive a stack-buffer overwrite. Exploitation requires user interaction with a malicious file; successful corruption can execute code in the consuming application's context.
