Arbitrary file execution via unvalidated ActiveX path
Published May 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in affected HANDY Groupware Windows releases allows attackers to execute arbitrary files through ActiveX. The HandySoft HShell FileStream Class passes a user-supplied download or execution path to its function without validating the argument. A user must visit a crafted page; affected branches end at 1.7.4.6, 2.0.3.6, and 4.0.1.7, and execution occurs in that user's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
