Administrator takeover and arbitrary upload via validation gaps
Published Apr 26, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting and unrestricted upload in MaxBoard 1.9.6 and earlier allow remote attackers to gain admin privileges or upload files. The admin page accepts insufficiently validated script content, while an unnamed upload menu accepts arbitrary files disguised as images. Exploitation requires no prior privileges and user interaction; published sources do not identify the affected parameters or file-handling routine.
