Arbitrary file deletion via path traversal
Published Feb 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in HPE Apollo 70 BMC firmware before 3.0.14.0 allows attackers to delete files through the webdeletesolvideofile function. The libifc.so webdeletesolvideofile handler accepts a path containing traversal elements and performs deletion without adequately constraining it to the intended video-file directory. Access requires reaching the BMC web interface, and the bounded consequence is deletion of controller files that can disrupt management functions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
