Local path traversal via WebDeleteVideoFile
Published Feb 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Path traversal in HPE Apollo 70 System BMC firmware before 3.0.14.0 allows local users to access files via the WebDeleteVideoFile function. The libifc.so WebDeleteVideoFile routine processes attacker-controlled pathnames without confinement to the intended video directory, allowing traversal to other filesystem locations. Local BMC access with low privileges is required, and crafted paths can target files outside the permitted directory and disrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
