CVE-2021-26570

Local BMC compromise via SetADConfig buffer overflow

Published Feb 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Buffer overflow in HPE Apollo 70 System BMC firmware before 3.0.14.0 allows local users to compromise the BMC process. The flaw resides in libifc.so's WEBIFC_SetADConfig function, but HPE has not disclosed the unchecked input or copy operation that overruns the buffer. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability within the BMC's security authority.
