Arbitrary HTML execution via unsanitized console input
Published Feb 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in SmartFoxServer 2.17.0 allows attackers to run arbitrary HTML in an administrator's browser through AdminTool input. The AdminTool God Mode Console returns entered content without adequate sanitization, causing the browser to interpret crafted markup in the site's context. Reachability requires an administrator to manually enable and use the local, default-disabled console; the vendor disputes any remote or cross-site exposure.
