Certificate parsing in AMD SEV and SEV-ES on affected processors allows remote attackers to crash the virtualization host. The SEV firmware parses an OCA certificate without adequate validation, although AMD has not disclosed the missing check or malformed field. The target must use SEV or SEV-ES; exploitation interrupts the host, while SEV-SNP is not affected.
