Denial of service via ACP key-policy bypass
Published Jul 14, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Firmware authorization bypass in AMD Ryzen and Athlon Series allows local users with root privileges to interrupt Audio Co-Processor operation. The ACP firmware loader accepts any legitimately signed image without enforcing whether its signing key is authorized for ACP authentication. Root access is required to load the image, and the disclosed consequence is bounded to denial of service rather than data access or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
