CVE-2021-26352

Service interruption via unchecked PCIe hot-plug table bounds

Published May 10, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Bounds-checking error in SMU firmware for AMD Ryzen and Athlon processors allows local users to interrupt service via PCIe hot-plug data. The SMU fails to validate PCIe Hot Plug table bounds before accessing or updating addresses, permitting operations against invalid address space. Local low-privileged access is required, and the disclosed consequence is availability loss rather than data disclosure or modification.
