Arbitrary code execution in SMM on AMD Ryzen Series and Athlon Series allows local users to modify SPI flash through an attacker-controlled protocol. The SMM handler fails to verify the protocol object before using it, permitting unauthorized writes to SPI flash. Local low-privileged access is required; successful exploitation can execute code and alter persistent platform firmware.
