Code execution via CLI set value eval
Published Jan 27, 2021 · Updated Nov 19, 2024
Code injection in GoDaddy Config Shield before 0.2.2 allows attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted CLI set value. The cmdSet function in scripts/cli.js wraps a nonquoted set value in parentheses and passes it to eval, causing JavaScript expressions to run during parsing. The vendor disputes the vulnerability because the interactive set command was not intended to receive untrusted data; exposure requires attacker-controlled input to reach that command.
