Browser script execution via unescaped notification content
Published Apr 25, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Odoo Discuss 14.0 through 15.0 allows remote attackers to execute web script through crafted messages. The notification handler converts message.body to inline text but sends the result without HTML escaping, so notification rendering interprets embedded markup. No account or click is required; execution occurs when a connected recipient receives the notification, enabling actions or data access in that browser session.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
