Client-side script execution via unescaped ref parameter
Published Jan 19, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reflected XSS in Cacti 0.8.7g allows remote attackers to run script through a crafted auth_changepassword.php ref parameter. The page prints the request's ref value directly into a hidden form input without neutralizing characters that escape the value attribute. No authentication is required to create the URL, but a victim must open it; the script then runs in the victim's browser under the Cacti origin.
