Stored script execution via XML Export
Published Jul 20, 2021 · Updated Oct 11, 2024
Stored XSS in Atlassian Jira Server and Jira Data Center allows remote attackers to inject HTML or JavaScript through XML Export. Atlassian identifies XML Export as the affected locus but has not published the specific output-encoding or validation failure that preserves attacker-controlled markup. Exploitation requires authenticated access and victim interaction; the stored script runs in the victim's browser and can read or alter data available to that session.
