Reflected XSS via unescaped JQL range value
Published Jun 7, 2021 · Updated Oct 17, 2024
Reflected XSS in affected Jira Server and Jira Data Center releases allows remote authenticated users to execute script through crafted JQL. The number range search template renders a crafted Story Points range value from the jql parameter without neutralizing HTML, so a quote sequence introduces a script element. A lowest-privilege account and the number range searcher configuration are required; a browser must render the response, and impact remains browser-context script execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
