CVE-2021-26039Network attack vector

Browser script execution via unescaped imagelist output

Published Jul 7, 2021 · Updated Feb 25, 2026

Cross-site scripting in Joomla! CMS 3.0.0 through 3.9.27 allows remote attackers to run script in a user's browser via com_media imagelist. The com_media imagelist view applies inadequate escaping when rendering its output, allowing crafted content to enter the generated page. Exploitation requires a user to load the crafted content; execution remains in that user's browser and can expose or modify browser-accessible data.
