Unauthorized item reordering via missing token check
Published May 26, 2021 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Joomla! CMS 3.0.0 through 3.9.26 allows remote attackers to reorder items through crafted AJAX requests. The AJAX reordering endpoint performs its state-changing operation without validating a CSRF token tied to the requesting session. Exploitation requires an authenticated user with reordering permission to submit the attacker's request, and the resulting change is limited to item ordering.
