CVE-2021-25992Network attack vector

Administrator session reuse via incomplete logout invalidation

Published Feb 10, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Insufficient session expiration in ifme 1.0.0 through 7.33.2 allows attackers to reuse an administrator's cookie after logout. The SessionsController placed invalidate_all_sessions! in destroy rather than a prepended callback, so logout left the server-side session valid. Exploitation requires possession of an administrator session cookie and preserves authenticated administrative access after logout.
