Stored XSS via unsanitized markdown input
Published Dec 29, 2021 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Stored XSS in the ifme markdown editor through 7.31.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a group leader's browser. InputTextarea stored initial, edited, and pasted HTML without sanitization, and group rendering later inserted the saved markup into a leader's page. An attacker needs an account and must make the victim a group Leader; viewing the group then triggers script with the victim's session context.
