CVE-2021-25976Network attack vector

Manager data alteration via missing antiforgery validation

Published Nov 16, 2021 · Updated Apr 30, 2025

Cross-site request forgery in Piranha CMS 4.0.0-alpha1 through 9.2.0 allows remote attackers to alter or delete manager data via crafted requests. Manager API controllers accept state-changing requests without validating antiforgery tokens; the patch adds automatic token validation and sends a request token in a configurable header. Exploitation requires an authenticated manager to submit the attacker's cross-site request, and known object identifiers expose actions including user, role, post, and media deletion.
