Media-upload denial of service via malformed SVG
Published Oct 20, 2021 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Uncaught exception handling in Camaleon CMS 2.0.1 through 2.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to disable media uploads via a malformed SVG. The file_parse method passes the uploaded SVG to MiniMagick and reads its width and height without rescuing malformed-image exceptions. Low-privileged media-upload access is sufficient, and the resulting failure persistently interrupts the media-upload feature rather than the entire site.
