CVE-2021-25970Network attack vector

Persistent account access via unchanged authentication tokens

Published Oct 20, 2021 · Updated Apr 30, 2025

Insufficient session expiration in Camaleon CMS 0.1.7 through 2.6.0 allows remote authenticated users to retain access after a password change. The user model updates the password digest without regenerating auth_token, so previously issued authentication cookies continue to resolve to the account. Exploitation requires a valid pre-change session and preserves that session's existing account privileges despite an administrator's attempt to revoke access.
