Continued access via unrevoked authentication sessions
Published Oct 10, 2021 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Insufficient session expiration in OrchardCore.Users 1.0.0-beta1-3383 through 1.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to retain access. The password reset path in ResetPasswordController changes the credential without invalidating authentication cookies issued before the change. An attacker must possess a valid pre-change session; that session continues to authorize application access after either self-service or administrator-initiated password replacement.
