Stored script execution via unchecked user ID

Stored XSS in affected OpenNMS Horizon and Meridian releases allows remote authenticated users to store scripts through a crafted user ID. The validateFormInput function fails to reject HTML metacharacters in the userID parameter, allowing the identifier and embedded script to persist in the database. Execution requires another user to view the stored identifier, where the script runs in that user's browser and can read or alter data available to that session.
