Credential disclosure via unredacted logging
Published May 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cleartext logs in Couchbase Server before 6.0.5, 6.1.0 through 6.5.1, and 6.6.0 allow local users to read administrator credentials. Couchbase logging writes the @ns_server internal administrator password without redaction to cbcollect_info.log, debug.log, ns_couchdb.log, indexer.log, and stats.log. High local privileges and read access to those files are required, and previously written entries remain exposed in historical logs.
