CVE-2021-25643Network attack vector

Administrative credential disclosure via unredacted Index Service logging

Published May 26, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Cleartext credential exposure in Couchbase Server 5.x and 6.x allows remote authenticated users to read internal administrator credentials. Index Service writes unredacted Base64 authentication data to indexer.log when three internal token-list REST endpoints are called. Exposure requires high-privilege REST access and read access to indexer.log; the reported impact is limited to credential confidentiality.
