Pre-auth RCE via attacker-selected deserializer
Published May 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Deserialization flaw in Apache Dubbo 2.6.x before 2.6.9 and 2.7.x before 2.7.8 allows remote attackers to execute code. Serialization.getSerialization validates requested IDs only for Java-family serializers, so a crafted preamble can select Kryo, FST, or native Hessian. No authentication or user interaction is required, but a weak deserializer and a usable gadget chain must be present in the provider classpath.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
