CVE-2021-25493

Memory disclosure via unchecked libSPenBase buffer read

Published Oct 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Samsung Notes before 4.3.02.61 allows local users to disclose memory via libSPenBase. The library reads past a buffer because it omits a boundary check, although Samsung has not published the affected function or triggering input. Local access to an affected app build is required, and the resulting read can expose adjacent process memory without enabling writes or code execution.
