Code execution via malformed LTE RRC reconfiguration

Heap-based buffer overflow in the Exynos CP chipset on selected Samsung Mobile Devices allows remote attackers to execute code via LTE signaling. A malformed RadioResourceConfigDedicated element is re-encoded into an undersized heap buffer, corrupting adjacent heap objects and metadata. An attacker-controlled LTE base station can reach the decoder without completed over-the-air security; triggering requires cellular radio proximity and specialized transmission equipment.
