CVE-2021-25478Network attack vector

Code execution via LTE RRC stack overflow

Published Oct 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Oct-2021 Release 1 allows attackers to execute arbitrary code. Exynos CP processing of LTE RRC Connection Reconfiguration data lacks the boundary check needed before writing data into a stack buffer. Affected targets are selected Android 8.1, 9, 10, and 11 devices with Exynos chipsets; successful exploitation permits arbitrary memory writes and baseband code execution.
