Local memory corruption via unchecked NPU input
Published Sep 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
NULL pointer dereference in the NPU driver in Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR Sep-2021 Release 1 allows local users to corrupt memory. The driver fails to validate an input before dereferencing it, permitting a null pointer to reach memory-handling code. The flaw is limited to Android 9.0, 10.0, and 11.0 devices with Exynos chipsets, and public material does not identify a more specific trigger or execution consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
