Stack overflow via improper APAService length check
Published Sep 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in APAService in Samsung Mobile Devices on Android 8.1 allows local users to corrupt process memory. APAService fails to enforce the input-length boundary needed to prevent data from overflowing a stack buffer; no affected function or field is public. Reachability is local through an Android service interface, and published sources establish neither code execution nor data disclosure.
