System file access via unchecked content URI
Published Jul 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper access control in Samsung FactoryCameraFB before 3.4.74 allows local users to read and write arbitrary files as the system user. CameraTestActivity processes an attacker-supplied content URI under the application's UID 1000 system identity and returns the resulting URI permission to the caller. An untrusted application installed on an affected Samsung device can invoke the activity without user interaction and cross application sandboxes to expose or overwrite protected files.
