CVE-2021-25439

Arbitrary webpage loading via unprotected WebView path

Published Jul 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper access control in affected Samsung Members versions allows local users to load arbitrary webpages through the application's WebView. Samsung identifies the WebView path as the locus but does not disclose the component or missing caller check that accepts the untrusted application's request. Exposure requires an installed malicious app and Samsung Members before 2.4.85.11 on Android 8.1 and earlier or before 3.9.10.11 on Android 9.0 and later; no code execution or data modification is documented.
