CVE-2021-25433

Factory reset via unauthorized D-Bus signal

Published Jul 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper authorization in Samsung Tizen 5.5 before Firmware update JUL-2021 Release allows attackers to factory-reset wearables via D-Bus. The factory reset policy accepts a D-Bus signal from an untrusted application without enforcing the required authorization. A malicious application must already run on an affected Galaxy Watch, and successful exploitation initiates the device's factory-reset process.
