System-privileged file access via unsanitized intent

Improper intent sanitization in SecSettings on Samsung Mobile Devices before SMR MAY-2021 Release 1 allows local users to access system UID data. The app passes an incoming intent back to its caller without sanitizing it, enabling a malicious app to obtain URI permissions for privileged content providers and combine them with an insecure FileProvider shared under UID 1000. Exploitation requires installation and launch of an attacker-controlled app; the resulting system-context access permits arbitrary file reads and writes.
