CVE-2021-25391Public exploit

Privileged content-provider access via redirected intent

Published Jun 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Intent redirection in Samsung Secure Folder on Android 11 before SMR MAY-2021 Release 1 allows local users to execute privileged actions. KnoxSettingCheckLockTypeActivity returns an attacker-supplied content URI with Secure Folder's read and write grants instead of restricting the caller. An unprivileged application on the device can invoke the activity and use the returned grants to read or write protected provider data, as demonstrated against contacts.
